Horror Prompts’ Gillian Church has created 28 single-word prompts and challenged writers to write a horror drabble for each. A drabble is a story of exactly 100 words, no more, no less (not counting the title).
Can you do it?
The last thing I expect was Corey Trainor to show up outside my dorm room, but I wasn’t gonna complain!
He pushed past me, babbling something about having waited too long.
Like I cared! Corey was a dream! And here he was, in all his six-foot, shaggy-haired glory!
He grabbed me roughly and pulled me in for a kiss. I felt butterflies in my stomach; my lips were tingling!
Suddenly, Corey withered and decayed before my eyes; his skin turned to ash and he screamed a silent, agonised wail as he crumpled to dust.
“Too long! I waited too long!”
What did you think to the prompt for this week’s drabble challenge? Did you submit anything for it? Have you ever written any flash fiction before? I’d love to know what you think to my snippets and writing prompts, so feel free to sign up and let me know what you think below or leave a comment on my Instagram page.
