Horror Prompts’ Gillian Church is hosting another horror drabble challenge: 31 prompts for 31 creepy tales throughout March. This time, we can decide on the length of the piece but I’m sticking to the 100-word default.
Can you do it?
The Prompt:
Hacker
The Submission:
The hacker interrupted the feed, throwing the studio into chaos. The monitors glitched and the newscasters frantically looked to their bewildered producers for answers.
“You ignored my warnings,” came the distorted voice as technicians tried to restore the feed.
“For that, there must be a price paid. By now, entire shipments of bottle water laced with anthrax have made it to shelves for your widespread consumption,” the anchor-man’s eyes bulged as he stared at the half-empty bottle on his news desk.
“I never wanted this. You drove me to it by ignoring my demands. Perhaps now you’ll take me seriously.”
What did you think to the prompt for today’s drabble challenge? Did you submit anything for it? Have you ever written any flash fiction before? I’d love to know what you think to my snippets and writing prompts, so feel free to sign up and let me know what you think below or leave a comment on my Instagram page.
