I hated it down there. It was dark and dank and full of rats and creepy-crawlies, but the doctor made the rules.
“My specimens won’t take care of themselves,” he’d explained as he worked on his latest subject. “Now go dispose of that”.
The doctor kept the machine down there in the musty dark. It was rusted and stained with untold viscera.
I loaded the latest batch into the rancid contraption and pulled the lever. As the fleshy meat that had once been humans was squashed and compressed, I wondered when I would be fed to the machine so callously.
